Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American boy band
that specializes in the field of pop. The group was formed in 2009. The group
is made up of Kendall Schmidt and James Maslow along with Logan Henderson and
Carlos PenaVega. In 2009, they signed with Nick Records before moving to
Columbia Records. They starred in Nickelodeon's TV series, Big Time Rush. The
show ran from November 28th from 2009 to July 25, 2013. The pilot episode
included "Big Time Rush", the group's debut single for promotion. The
group released three studio albums: BTR in 2010 and Elevate (2011) and 24/Seven
(2013). In 2014, the group took an indefinite break that ran until 2021. The
group then returned to live performances and then released "Call it Like I
See It". Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush to an album deal in 2009
alongside its TV series, Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon also teamed up with
Columbia/Epic Label Group for production and original music. For the show,
their first single, "Big Time Rush" came out on November 29 on the
29th of November. The announcement was made by Nickelodeon in November 2009,
the show premiered for the first time in the Americas. The song was later
released internationally. It was featured on an introduction to the series for
one hour and is the show's first tune. There were promotional singles released
by the series, which included "City is Ours" (with Big Time Rush) and
"Any Kind of Guy". Big Time Rush performed "Famous" by
Play. The song was released to iTunes on June 29, 2010. Another track,
"Halfway There", was released to iTunes on April 27, 2010, following
its premiere on the show. The song was quickly the first charting song on
Billboard Hot 100. Due to digital sales it climbed to number 93. The second
single from Big Time Rush, "Till You Forget About You", was released
on September 21, 2010. This was to promote their debut album. On the 11th of
October, 2010, the album, called BTR was released to the general public. The
album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold an initial 67,000
copies.
