Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on
26th August 2002) who is professionally referred to as Lil Tecca, is an
American musician and rapper. His fame exploded through the release of his
single from 2019 "Ransom", which reached number 4 on the Billboard
Hot 100. The debut mixtape of his"We Love You Tecca (2019), featured the
single. It peaked at #4 on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included
singles Love Me and Did It Again. His debut studio album
titled"Virgo" (2020) was released at the top of the Billboard 200. It
also featured the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly" and
"When You Down". His second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was
released in the month of August 2021. It included "Repeat It" and
"Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002,
in the Queens area in New York City to Jamaican immigrants. He was born in
Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe moved later to Cedarhurst in
Long Island. Sharpe was a young man with ambitions to become a basketball
player. However, his attention shifted to music when he was 12. Sharpe attended
Lawrence High School. Tecca was just nine years old age when he started rapping
on his Xbox. They would record diss tracks directed at one another One of them
was posted to SoundCloud several years ago, but was removed. In the beginning,
he didn't have any plans of making music a living but instead wanted to be an
NBA superstar. In his middle school years however, he started to become bored
with basketball and started taking music seriously. His first track to gain
some traction, "Tectri", was composed in collaboration with his pal,
Lil Gummybear, and was released in the beginning of 2017. He also released
"Callin" as one of his first songs. The hit song of his "Ransom,"
which was first posted to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on
May 22 of 2019, started Tecca's meteoric rise. It peaked at number 4 in the
Billboard Hot 100 charts and has been played over 900 million times on Spotify
and more than 300 million times on YouTube.
