Beyonce Giselle Knowles was conceived in
Houston, Texas on September 4, 1981. Tina Knowles, her mom creates the
glittering costumes as well as Mathew Knowles, Destiny's child's manager.
Solange and her sister (4 years apart) has released her debut album. She dances

made an appearance. She was the first woman of African descent ever to be
awarded the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award in 2001. She is a big fan of
Middle Eastern music, dance and culture. Her biggest success to date is her
song "Crazy in Love" (2003). The Radio Music Awards, MTV Europe Video
Music Awards and Billboard Awards are among the awards shows she has performed
on in 2003. She was also a performer at an South African AIDS benefit event,
which Bono from U2 hosted in November of 2003 to help fight the AIDS epidemic.
She took home five Grammy Awards for her song "Dangerously in Love"
(February 8 of 2004). Mathew, her father, is an African-American. Tina is of
Louisiana Creole descent. Her ancestors are mainly African as well as French
and include ancestors from Louisiana as well as Canada. Beyonce is 1/32 Irish
and has distant Breton as well as Spanish, Indonesian and Chinese roots.
According to some, she invented a stage name named "Sasha" to conquer
her shyness.
